Strong Alumni Network is an asset of any University. CUK has started building alumni network through departmental level as well as at University level. As CUK is very young and budding University we made beginning to have alumni association. University has been started in 2009 with MA in English and M.Phil in Kannada, English, Psychology and Economics. From 2010-11 academic year onwards MBA, M.Com, Geography, Kannada were started. First batch of English passed out in the year 2011 and other courses in the year 2012. Some department like Department of Business Studies, Geography, Geology, English, Hindi and Department of Kannada are in the process of having formally established alumni association. However, some departments already have Facebook and WhatsApp groups of their alumni network. Now we have taken an initiative to have formally establish an alumni associations at every department and University level. These departments have organized alumni meetings and discussion to help them in building stronger alumni network. The main objectives of the Alumni Association are:
To bring the practical experience to the classrooms through interaction with Alumni
To bridge the gap between industry and academia
To get inputs from Alumni to make curriculum more contemporary and practical in nature
To help our students to get easy access to companies for doing Internship and Dissertation activities
To provide platform for Faculties and Alumnus to work together on research and case writing
To help our students to get better placement and career guidance
To make Alumni to feel good being part of CUK family
The first alumni meet was organized on 29th July 2015 on the eve of second Convocation. It was very appropriate to have alumni meet during convocation because many batch students came to the university to get their degrees; otherwise having large number of alumni meeting one point in time is very difficult due to their organizational commitments. Hence it was decided to have alumni meet every year during the convocation. In the first alumni meet around 30 alumni of different batch of MBA participated and the following resolution was passed:

Alumni interaction with students and alumnus are always welcomed to take classes whenever they are in Kalaburagi
Alumni should support for internship and dissertation activities
Alumni should keep informing to the department regarding job opportunities in their respective organizations and help for placement
If possible hold Alumni meet outside Kalaburagi also (any city alumni feel convenient)

To have CUKMSF Magazine/News Letter (Miss. Krutika Sha is the in-charge of this activity)
Introduction of Specialization in Operations Management (Mr. Mark Andred is the in-charge of this activity- It is under consideration)
Introduction of Data Analytics and R Software (Introduced)
It is better to have MS Excel rather than ERP Training (Action initiated)
Introduction of CRM and Training (Miss. Nazmeen is the in-charge of this activity)
Regular Industrial Visits and alumni should help for getting companies permission
Inviting Alumni for every conference and Seminars (Invited and Miss. Ranjitha G P from IIMK and Mr. Kumar Aashis from EDII participated in the Tourism and Entrepreneurship conference which was held on 25th -26th August 2016)

The Department of Business Studies is very proud to have very well placed alumnus. Some of our Alumnus are working in Amazon, Indian National Insurance Company, Flipkart, Axis Bank and many other reputed companies and some are pursuing their higher studies in well known institutes like IIM Kozhikode, IISc Bengaluru and EDII Ahmadabad. We are very well connected with our alumni through WhatsApp and googlegroups. We are in the process of creating registered closed group facebook page for exclusively consisting of our alumnus.
