Prof. Jeyavel S

Prof. Jeyavel Sundaramoorthy (also known as Dr S. Jeyavel) is an esteemed academician in psychology, specialising in educational psychology, self-regulated learning, and counselling. He serves as a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Central University of Karnataka (CUK) in Kalaburagi, where he has been a key faculty member since February 2012. He holds a PhD in Psychology from VMS University, an M.Phil. in Psychology from Annamalai University, and an M.Sc. and B.A. in Psychology from the University of Madras. He began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at CUK's Psychology Department in 2012, teaching BSc, MSc, and PhD students. 2021 December He joined the Central University of Punjab as an Associate Professor and headed the department for three years. 2024 November has shifted to Central University of Karnataka as Professor. His doctoral work centred on promoting self-regulated learning among adolescents through activity-based modules. Key interests include adolescent learning and motivation, stress coping skills, goal orientation, and stress mindset interventions. He has been involved in various sponsored projects. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the National Academy of Psychology. He is also an Editor in the prestigious Springer Nature Group of Journals.
