PROF. BATTU SATYANARAYANA

Prof Battu Satyanarayana was born at Bommakal Village, Karimnagar district,
Telangana State. He has obtained his M.Sc and Ph.D degrees from Osmania
University. He got CSIR JRF through the examination conducted by CSIR. He
served as a Lecturer at Indira Gandhi National University, New Delhi, Assistant
Professor, Associate Professor and Professor in the department of Chemistry,
Osmania University, Hyderabad. He has 32 years of experience at UG and PG
teaching and 36 years of Research experience.
His area of research includes Coordination Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry,
Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Catalysis, Bio-inorganic chemistry, Nano-materials
and Environmental Chemistry. He has guided 18 students for their Ph.D. degree.
He has published 80 research papers in Peer reviewed journals. He has carried
out several research projects and presented papers at national and international
conferences. He delivered several key note addresses and lectures at seminars/
conferences.
He is a life member of Indian Science Congress Association and a Annual
Member of Indian Chemical Society. He is a member of Voluntary Educational
Societies such as Osmania Graduation Association, Hyderabad, Vijaya Nagar
Vidya Samithi, Hyderabad, Sri Saraswathi Vidya Peetham, Telangana State.
He has organized workshops to train employees of HMWS&SB on analysis of
water. He is a resource person for UGC-HRDC of several Universities for
Orientation and Refresher Courses and also FDP of affiliated Colleges.
He was associated with several committees as a member on policy matters
of Osmania University, State committees and National Committees. He was a
Committee Member of UGC regulations 2018 on minimum qualification for
appointment of teachers and other academic staff in universities and colleges
and measures for maintenance of standards in higher education.
He served as a Head, Dept. of Chemistry, Chairman, Board of Studies of
Chemistry, Chairman, Board of Studies of Forensic Science, Osmania
University, Hyderabad. He served as a Dean, Faculty of Science, Mahatma
Gandhi University, Nalgonda and Sathavahana University, Karimnagar. He
served as a warden, NSS program officer and Students adviser in Osmania
University. He was a Nodal Officer, Wi-Fi enabled network project of Osmania
University sponsored by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology,
Govt. of India.
He served as a member in Statutory bodies of Universities/Institutions such
as Academic Senate, Academic Council, Executive Council, Faculty Board,
Board of Studies, Governing Bodies and Selection Committees. He is a Visitors
nominee on Executive Council of Central University of Hyderabd. He is a Visitors
Nominee on selection committee of Central University of Kerala.
He was actively associated with teachers’ associations. He served as a
General Secretary and President of Osmania University Teachers’ Association
(OUTA). He served as a Secretary General and Chairman of Andhra Pradesh
Federation of University Teachers’ Associations and Chairman of Telangana
State Federation of University Teachers’ Associations.
